SARA BYRNE
Sara Byrne, Seelie Clan: A trusted Member of the Seelie clan, Sara is a Fae of 500,000 years. Originally a Sidhe of Ireland, Sara joined the Seelie clan nearly 4,200 years ago. Her motives are pure, as few Fae find humans as endearing as Sara. More than any other Fae in existence, Sara respects people, and is one of the few who resists peering into the images of the human mind unless her role in the Seelie clan demands it. She has a strong bond with the O’Shea Family, and has served as Aunt May’s Treorai and friend for decades. While Sara is not old enough to serve as an Elder in the Seelie clan, she possesses a unique ability to determine which humans have an innate ability to connect with the elements. Because of that gift, Ozara and the Seelie elders have entrusted Sara to select each new steward of the Weald for more than 140 years. Sara has a working, but tense relationship with Chalen and the other Unseelie who visit the Weald—they typically keep their distance from one another. The Unseelie see her as a traitor to their kind; she views them as animals who’ve succumbed to baser desires. Sara is aligned to Air, and quite powerful. She has a pragmatic side, but like all Air inclined Fae, she is taken by whimsy, and moved by the slightest artistic expression.

Like all Fae, she has a stubborn streak and a very individual view of right and wrong, which leads her to question the decisions of the Seelie Elders—at least internally. Sara is adept at politics, having navigated more than her share of controversies over the millennia. Most Fae respect her, and even those who don’t like her tend to give the tiny sylph plenty of distance, as she has Ozara’s ear.
