Maggie O'Shea: As the Weald Fae Journals begin, Maggie is a 15-year-old Cuban-Irish transplant from sunny southern Florida.   A competitive swimmer and two-time state champion, she sees her future in Boca Raton, where she is content to continue swimming until she can start college and build a life.   Due to factors beyond her control, she is forced to move with her family to the winter landscape of the rural Ozark Mountains, just a few miles from the hamlet of Eureka Springs.   Like most young women her age, moving from her friends, grandparents, and the only place she’s ever called home is an emotional challenge for her.  But Maggie is no ordinary teenage girl, and she finds herself in the middle of a conflict she can hardly believe is real.  Tough, clever, and tenacious, Maggie must work out what to believe and whom to believe, and more importantly, what her role will be.   Excitement drives her forward, but she must tread a careful path as danger awaits around every bend.
